Duquesne Light and West Penn Power are among the best electric utilities in the region in handling customer service, according to a report released today by J.D. Power.
In its annual survey of residential customer satisfaction, J.D. Power ranked Duquesne Light as the second best and West Penn Power as the fourth best electric utility servicing a large number of customers in the east region.
The survey asked customers to rate the utilities on a 1,000-point scale. Duquesne Light scored an average of 656. West Penn Power scored an average of 647.
Both companies scored well above the east region large electric utility average of 626.
As an industry, electric utilities are improving communications with customers, though gains in customer satisfaction scores lag behind gains in other industries, J.D. Power reports.
