BRIEF: PPL to test sirens at nuclear plant Thursday



All sirens in the emergency notification system at the PPL Susquehanna Steam nuclear power plant in Salem Township are scheduled for an annual test Thursday.

Starting at 11 a.m., the sirens at the plant will sound once for three minutes with a steady tone. The public does not need to respond. After the sirens sound, local radio and television stations will carry a message about the test.
